Hello Hopefuls!
It was so wonderful to worship, celebrate and kick off our fall season at Hope last Sunday! There was great involvement in our Sunday morning Faith Formation opportunities for kids, youth and adults. Great food, games and live music as well! I hope all who were present on Sunday had an enjoyable time.
The gathering of the Church to worship and proclaim the Gospel together is a fundamental expression of who we are and what we are called to do alongside our mission and service outwardly in the community. I am grateful that Sunday mornings at Hope are an engaging time for community, growth, worship and fellowship and I encourage you to continue to invite folks to join us!
We kicked off our new sermon series called Worship: Living in Awe of God. My hope is that God’s majesty is not lost on us. Our lives are full. We have lots to tend to in our work, school, relationships and activities. This is not wrong or bad, it is simply the reality of our culture. The call, and often challenge, of followers of Jesus is to tend to, engage and be mindful of our spiritual well being and journey in the midst of what we have going on. And part of that is remembering that God is indeed awesome and holy. Our faith in God is one of wonder. Living our lives in view of God’s majesty and splendor can be source of strength for us. Don’t let a day go by without spending time with God in prayer. Give thanks to God for his holiness. Thank God for the freedom, forgiveness and hope that comes with a relationship with Jesus Christ. There is wonder all around us and this is because God is wonder. Remember to worship with a sense of awe and live your lives with gratitude and joy. I look forward to seeing you all soon. Bless you!
