Mission
Mission Projects
There are over 3,000 kids in Omaha who do not have a bed to sleep in every night, many of them sleep on the floor or couch cushions if they are lucky. These kids do not get enough sleep and that has a negative impact on their energy to learn in school or participate in extracurricular activities. Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a nationwide organization that builds and delivers beds to children in need. The Omaha chapter built and delivered 1280 beds last year and are on track to deliver as many this year.
I have been volunteering at SHP for a year now, assisted and led multiple bed builds and had the amazing opportunity to deliver some of those beds. There aren’t many words to describe the fulfilling joy you feel when you get to assemble beds with the teenage kids who are receiving the beds and watch them assemble more beds for their younger siblings and see the joy they got from being a part of that process and knowing they were going to get a great night’s sleep from now on.

Fall 2026 Bedding Drive & Bed Build
All of you have an opportunity to be a part of this great joy of giving a kid a new bed because Hope church is sponsoring a 20 bed build and collecting bedding to donate to Sleep in Heavenly Peace. We are collecting twin bedding, blankets, and pillows to be delivered with these and many more beds through October 25th. On Saturday October 31 from 9am - noon, you can volunteer with the Hope team to build beds. No woodworking experience or skills required. There is a task for every age and skill level!
