Each November the Communications Committee tries to focus on 30 Days of Gratitude. We do this by posting scriptures or quotes that hopefully remind you to take a moment to practice gratitude during a busy time of year. This year, we’re doing something a little different. We are actively encouraging you to participate in an activity for 7 days. These are simple things you can do every day within a matter of a few minutes and without cost. As we begin to prepare for the holiday season, let’s take time each day to be in an attitude of gratitude!
Week 2 – 2 Minutes of Prayer
When you buy a new car, you start seeing “your car” everywhere. When you’re looking for the good, you’ll start seeing the good everywhere. The same can be said of gratitude. When we start to focus on our blessings, we’ll start to see and appreciate them even more! And there have even been studies to show the benefits of a daily gratitude practice.
Especially this time of year we can sometimes get caught up in the hustle and bustle of preparing for the holidays. This week make sure to take at least 2 minutes out of your day to pause and reflect on your many blessings. Find a quiet space, set a timer, and focus on God’s grace in your life. Notice that your breathing and heart rate will slow. This practice can give us the calming influence we need when life gets hectic.
