Each November the Communications Committee tries to focus on 30 Days of Gratitude. We do this by posting scriptures or quotes that hopefully remind you to take a moment to practice gratitude during a busy time of year. This year, we’re doing something a little different. We are actively encouraging you to participate in an activity for 7 days. These are simple things you can do every day within a matter of a few minutes and without cost. As we begin to prepare for the holiday season, let’s take time each day to be in an attitude of gratitude!
Week 1 Activity – Because
We sometimes get in the habit of saying “Thank You” without really thinking about it. When someone takes your plate after dinner or says “Bless You” after you sneeze. Maybe someone holds a door for you or the ushers hand you a bulletin as you walk into church. You say thanks but how often to do express a true and real feeling?
This week we encourage you to tell people WHY you’re thankful. Friends, family, or anyone you encounter. Let your true feelings be known as to why you are grateful for their presence in your life or for what someone does. It could be note or a phone call or a text. Or even face-to-face.
We’ll be checking in on Facebook and Instagram throughout the week. We’d love to hear your stories about your experience with this challenge. Send us a message or comment publicly.
Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
